Political analyst and University of Namibia lecturer Phanuel Kaapama says democracy is alive in Namibia as shown the challenge of last year's elections in the High Court.
Kaapama compared constitution and functions of governance to those of other countries in the world.
Political analyst Phanuel Kaapama believes Namibia's Constitution continues to be a beacon of hope and a guide to other democracies that look up to the Namibian nation.
He says the composition of the National Assembly and Cabinet by the same people is a challenge to the normal oversight of both functions but adds that the challenge is the same in other countries.
The analyst says the function of the judiciary is worth appreciating despite the fact that sometimes its rulings go against the will of many in society.
He is of the view that the Electoral democracy might be the only function of Namibia's statehood that continues to struggle. Three of the four locally organized elections have been challenged in court.
Participants said the lecture was a fair reflection of the Namibian democracy.
