What is your philosophy in life? In my kitchen I have a quote from one of the venerable and wise Confucius that says: 'I hear and I forget. I see and I remember. I do and I understand.' To me, this wisdom speaks to the empowerment involved with taking appropriate action steps. Anyone can create an intention and desire to accomplish some longed for goal.
What made you join the NBC? I was a legal secretary when I first joined the NBC back in 1996. Every time I walked pass the graphic studio, I was fascinated about what was going on there… I quit my job as secretary and pursued my dream as an artist. I studied visual arts in Cape Town, South Africa for two years, came back – and, you guessed it, I landed the job as graphic artist at the NBC. I love what I do and I always do it to the best of my abilities.
What do you love most about broadcasting? I love the adrenaline… There are daily deadlines and sometimes you are pushed to your limits and creativity and that is the time when you have to perform your best.
What was your most memorable experience at the NBC? I started working at NBC when Mr. Danny Tjongarero was still the Director-General. He was such an inspirational person and a true leader. I will never forget him.
What is your message to the public? Don’t limit yourself. What you believe you can achieve.
What are your future plans? I would like to be my own boss for a change… Watch this space! LOL
