  Personality Profiles

Producer: Naita Hishoono (Welt Aktuell: Weekdays: 13:00 - 13:45; 16:00 News Bulletin; Gut Aufgelegt: Saturdays: 16:00 to 19:00)

Due to Namibia’s sad Apartheid history Naita’s parents had to leave the country which resulted in her being born in Hwambo/Angola. After the attack on the Namibian refugee camp Cassinga, her parents decided to send her to former East Germany. She lived there for eleven years until Namibia finally got its Independence. She has a diploma in Hospitality Management and worked for various radio stations in Germany. Naita’s turbulent past is at the root of her desire to provide people who live in the northern and southern hemisphere with information regarding their way of life. She sees herself as a bridge between them. Naita is currently studying Politics part-time at UNAM and she freelances for NBC TV (the Good Morning Namibia breakfast show from 06:00 to 07:00). Tune in to Naita…she will strive to inform you on important matters via a media channel that is mostly accessible to you: the radio.

Contract Producer: Freddy Frewer (Matinee: Weekdays: 11:05 to 12:00; Aufsteh’n ist schön: Saturdays: 06:00 to 08:00; Das Promenadenkonzert: Saturdays: 10:00 to 11:00; Die Klangpalette: Saturdays: 19:10 to 21:00; Die Morgenstimmung: Sundays: 07:00 to 08:00; Klingende Kostbarkeiten: Sundays: 09:00 to 10:00; Klassik am Sonntag Abend: Sundays: 19:10 to 21:00)

Freddy Frewer was born on 29 October 1938 in Windhoek. 1957 he went to Germany to study music. At the conservatory in Heidelberg he enrolled for the subjects: Music and Theatre. He passed his final exams with distinction. He acted in a number of plays in Heidelberg, Mannheim and Siwtzerland, but soon had to return to Namibia for personal reasons. 1979 he became a freelancer for the German Section of the SWABC. 1982 he was permanently employed by the German Service as a producer with special focus on cultural programs. He went into early retirement in 2003, but still actively presents and produces programs. His most fervent wish is to keep entertaining his listeners with his programs for as long as he is physically and mentally able to do so!

Senior Administrative Officer: Irene Eysselein

Have you ever tasted soup without salt? Have you ever eaten a cake without the cherry on top? Or have you ever tried spaghetti without tomato sauce? Take the one essential element away from these delicious foods and you have a tasteless, bland and boring dish. Take Irene away from the German Service and you have a mal-functioning, chaotic and disorganized office. This competent and professional lady is worth more than her weight in gold. On a daily basis she takes care of the producers mental and physical health by being a companion, a helping hand, a willing assistant and the kindest friend you can image. Add to this her exceptional skills as a marketing person and you have a dynamic woman who knows what she wants and most of all what everybody else needs! And maybe one day the staff members can convince her to try her hand and skills at broadcasting…

Programme Organiser: Michaela Jaeger

Michaela was born in Windhoek/Namibia. She obtained her post-matric qualification at the DHPS in Windhoek after which she completed a Bachelor of Business Science degree at the University of Cape Town with Marketing as her special field. Michaela takes a keen interest in all current political and social events and intensely enjoys her work. Her positive outlook on life and good humour are reflected in the charming way in which she handles the various challenges that come her way. She may have stumbled into broadcasting more or less by accident and it took some convincing until she finally accepted the responsibility as Programme Organiser, but once the Radio bug catches you, you are hooked for life. So whenever there is a chance of her being behind the microphone again, she is sure to grab it …because radio is her passion!
